Frequently Asked Questions

How to contact Bioinformatics Core?

Send an email to Dawei Lin (lhslin@ucdavis.edu) or call at 530-754-7978.

How long does a project take?

It will depend on the complexity of the project, the technologies used and the response time from users. The past projects in the bioinformatics core range from 20 hours to 1200 hours of programming time. For a project of 40 hours, the turn-around time is about two weeks. The core normally has 2-4 weeks workload before a new project is accepted. It is a good idea to plan your analysis ahead, especially it needs to be done in a timely mannner.

How can I add/edit http://bioinformatics.ucdavis.edu?

To edit you need to log in. To log in, click the log in button on the lower left menu. You'll need to enter a valid UCD kerberos username and password. If you don't see a prompt for a username and password it's likely that you already logged into another campus service and you automatically logged in.

Once logged in you can start editing any page that you can see the edit button under the Views menu. Simply click edit enter/change the text you want and hit the save page button when done.
